Here are just some of the questions our customers ask us all the time
How do I get rid of a lot of rubbish myself?
You can take your own personnel waste in your car to your local recycling point (TIP) They might charge you for certain waste disposal so please call them ahead.
Why does if cost me for disposing of waste using a company like yours?
All us waste companies or house clearance companies have to pay to dispose of waste at the local commercial waste recycling plants. Disposing of waste and household furniture correctly is NOT CHEAP. Some items are now classed as POP'S WASTE and this is normally items like sofa's, chairs with material on them, mattresses to name a few. Other items like fridge's, freezer's, old tv's are also charged at different rates on these waste management sites. These charges have to then be passed onto the customers hence the prices.
How do i get rid of furniture correctly? How do we know it will not be fly tipped?
All household clearing companies should show you their waste carriers license, also each job has a separate waste transfer note and you can ask to see this from the driver. It will have the details of your job on this.
How do I contact Newcastle Council waste collection? Will the council take away my waste for FREE?
Our answer is not really. The council will organise a waste collection for you (AT A VERY GOOD PRICE) but you must book this in advance and have the items outside the house for collection. The council lads will not take the items out of the property for you. CAUTION! If you leave rubbish outside on the public street without the council's permission you can be done for FLY TIPPING so our advice would be to call your local council and see what they say.
How do you dispose of rubbish in the UK?
We have to go to commercial waste management sites where different kinds of waste is dealt with differently. Items like sofas cannot be on the same load as say general household waste. All household clearing companies have to abide by the laws of each individual waste management site.
Can I leave bin bags next to my own bin?
Not normally as the bin wagons might not take these and therefore if you do not own the land this will be classed as fly tipping. We would advise you once again to discuss this with your local council.
Can you take a sofa to the tip in the UK?
Yes.
